The purpose of the Child Welfare Commission is to organize and coordinate preventive work, provision of educational assistance, creation of a safe and child-friendly environment, adaptation of educational programs for pupils with special educational needs, initial assessment of special educational needs of pupils (except for exceptional abilities); perform other functions related to the well-being of the child.

Functions of the Commission

& #8211; Evaluates the educational environment of the gymnasium, the safety of children, analyzes the educational needs of children, their problems and their causes, determines the priorities, directions and form of provision of educational aids

& #8211; Care shall be taken to detect as early as possible the risks related to the safety of children in the gymnasium, the creation of a safe educational environment in the gymnasium, and the reduction of the exclusion of children at school;
examines the causes of students' reluctance to attend school, the reasons for not attending school, their fears about going to school, and the steps they take to get their children back to school and succeed

& #8211; Analyzes behavioral violations, cases of violence, bullying, addictions, law enforcement violations, achievement of agreed goals to improve child behavior, fulfillment of child's minimal or moderate care, recommendations for teachers on educational methods and organization of work with children with undesirable behavior

& #8211; In solving the problems of a particular child, it collects information from teachers, class leaders, pupil support specialists, parents (guardians, guardians), the child, takes into account the environmental and gymnastic microclimate factors faced by children with special educational needs, children from social exclusion. groups, families with economic difficulties, expatriates, planning how and what will be done, what education or other assistance will be provided, who and who will be responsible

& #8211; Analyzes the effectiveness of the educational support provided to the pupil and adjusts the provision of educational support where necessary

& #8211; Analyzes the problems of relationships between children, teachers and children and makes suggestions to teachers for improving these relationships

& #8211; Provides suggestions to the Headmaster of the Gymnasium regarding the provision of social support (meals, supplies for pupils, etc.) to the pupils, organization of transportation of pupils to and from the Gymnasium, organization of the health care of pupils in the Gymnasium

& #8211; Performs the initial assessment of children with special educational needs (except those due to exceptional aptitudes) and makes recommendations to the head of the gymnasium regarding the allocation of special education for these children according to the procedure established by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania

& #8211; Provides guidance to teachers, parents (caregivers, caregivers) on special education approaches, methods, duration adjustments, technical assistance and special education tools, organizes and coordinates curriculum customization, manages accounting for children with special educational needs at the Gymnasium

& #8211; Offers parents (guardians, guardians) to assess the child's special educational needs in the pedagogical psychological service

& #8211; Proposes to implement life skills, prevention, health promotion, employment measures and programs in the Gymnasium

& #8211; Advises parents (guardians, guardians) on organization of children's education, behavior, attendance, security and other relevant issues

& #8211; In the event of a crisis in the Gymnasium, ie an unexpected and / or dangerous event that disrupts the normal activities of the Gymnasium community or its individual members, emotionally shocks all or a large part of the Gymnasium community, organizes crisis management measures

& #8211; Collaborates with high school self-governments (High School Council, Teachers' Council, Pupil Self-Government), institutions or individuals concerned with child welfare

& #8211; Initiates the training of teachers working in the Gymnasium in the field of child welfare

& #8211; Performs the functions set forth in Article 14 (7) of the Republic of Lithuania Law on Minimum and Medium Child Care and deals with other issues related to child welfare.
